Yay!DAY isn’t just about promoting positivity to others. It’s also about self-improvement, and the practice
of living a positive lifestyle, so that you can lead a happier, healthier life, and be better equipped to help others.

We call this “The Way of the Yay!”

This is a great way to start your day. Before bed and when you wake in the morning, take a moment to remind your self by saying things like: I am strong, I am enough, I am confident, I am improving every day - the list goes on and on. Say it out loud, believe it! Your affirmations will become your truth.

Practice positive affirmations

It’s easy to start the practice of a positive lifestyle. Simply make a conscious effort each day to seek out positivity. Don’t think you can do it every day? Try our 10/30 method and strive for 10 positive changes every month. Here are some techniques to help you unlock the power of positivity.

Keep a gratitude journal

Just like saying positive affirmations, keeping a journal will create a real, tangible reference for you to review and be reminded of the positive things in your life. Gratitude can be simple things - like a good cup of coffee or the joy of sun shining through your window. A journal allows you to take stock of all the good in your life - do it regularly and you’ll discover so much about yourself, and you’ll be reminded of the wonderful things you have in your life as well as the things you want to achieve.

Do a good deed for someone else

We all know how good it feels to help others - to see someone’s face light up upon receiving a gift or simply the joy you can bring by helping someone with a simple task. That good feeling has a real effect on our own physical and mental health. In other words, it’s a win-win, so why not make it a point to do good for others through random acts of kindness, no matter how small they might seem?

Practice meditation

We’ve all heard how great meditation can be, and we’ve probably all said to ourselves, “I can never focus long enough to meditate!” But meditation doesn’t mean we have to sit for hours in a zen garden, humming to ourselves. You can start meditation by spending just a few minutes focusing on your breathing, and trying to quiet your mind. You don’t have to be an expert to experience the benefits of meditation. Meditating will help reduce stress, allow you to focus on the present, increase your creativity, and calm your body. There’s several apps that will walk you through the process. You just have to start!
