I can help make a change, and I believe it starts with positivity!

See the positive in everything.

Growing up, schools would teach us as students the importance of making sure we have a good attitude with anything we set our mind to. However, that can be more difficult than it appears. Some things are hard, and some things are tough to deal with or understand. But if we only see the negative side of things, how can we learn to see the positive? My idea for Yay!Day sparked from that one thought: Positivity. If people look at things with a positive point of view, it will benefit them and the way they feel. That is why it is so important to make sure you have a positive mindset, because it is something so small that can still make a big difference. It is something that can be utilized in different challenges and struggles people face. I told my friends and family that my goal for Yay!Day was to just have a 24 hour period where everyone has to be positive no matter what, and I wanted this to spread to as many people as possible. The first Yay!Day would then be on October 30th, 2019.

I decided Yay!Day should be about radiating positivity ALL year.

Initially, I started Yay!Day on 10/30, but I thought that the message of it was something that should be practiced every day of the year. I decided to expand Yay!Day and not have it just be one day out of 365, but to have it be something that can be used to help others and support different causes.

Yay!Day is about more than just spreading positivity.

Yay!DAY is about using positivity as a vehicle to educate, inspire, and provide support to those committed to improving people’s lives. The best part is, there’s lots of ways to yay! Our in-school programs are crafted by students, teachers, and administrators with participants developing specific objectives and activities based around their interests. We know that positivity comes in many forms and we want our participants to contribute to the Yay!Day mission in their own unique way. I ‘d love for you to help us radiate positivity!

The Yay!Day mission: PEERS

Contributions to Yay!DAY support our PEERS scholarship program, with a mission to improve the lives of participants, their family and friends, and the community as a whole. The PEERS program’s goal is to promote positivity by educating participants about the numerous social, health, educational, and career benefits of adopting positivity as a guiding force. We utilize our programs to continue our efforts of encouraging learning and outreach, and utilize our scholarships and fundraising dollars to recognize individuals and organizations that spread positivity in our local community. Yay!DAY continues to provide support through mentorship, volunteering, educational resources, and collaboration with business and organizations that are dedicated to the Yay!DAY cause.
